Founded in 2004, Aldea Yanapay operates an alternative educational facility that offers free classes in English, pre-Incan languages, world religion, and the arts to at-risk youth in Cusco, Peru. Aldea Yanapay also works with children who live in police custody. Some of the children have been convicted of petty crimes but many must live in jail because they have been abandoned by their parents or are victims of domestic abuse who have no other place to go.
Drew Denny taught art to elementary students at the Aldea Yanapay school and to the children in police custody.
